DDoS again - August 18, 2007

The site went live again on August 14.
Sat there quietly, almost no hits. Which means mainly search engines and some rss-readers.
Except for that, almost nothing. Several hours between hits.

Then another ddos started again a couple of hours ago (according to the log: 18/Aug/2007:11:16:11 -0700).

As I said, almost no hits.
Just a few minutes before the attack started, there was a hit from this IP: 83.174.246.78:

inetnum: 83.174.240.0 - 83.174.255.255
netname: DSL-POOL
descr: Bashinformsvyaz Company, RUMS, DSL POOL
country: RU

Back

After the last ddos, the site is back up again.
We don't know for how long.

What's that smell?

Or: The big strong man with guns who turned into a chicken.

"Nick Danger" was asked a question over at the ljworld today:

Nick, did you call for a DDOS attack on spam-court & offer to help perform
such an attack?
It's a simple question.

And the big strong guy who turned into a chicken answers:

As far as I know and what my research into the matter indicates is that the
“post” to which you refer is a complete forgery; most likely put together to
look like a snapshot of a webpage and highly likely to have been done by:

(1) Spamhaus as that corrupt group has been known to do that very thing when
it has nothing else.

(2) By party or parties unknown over at NANAE; a group well know for its
fabrication of “evidence”.

These self-appointed Internet Police, very much like some of our local

How often or how much to write, that is the question.

We note that Marion can't keep his big mouth shut.
Neither can we.
We are not quite sure how we are going to do this, time is limited.

Right now we are thinking about the following schedule:
Starting later today, one posting each day for the four next days.
Maybe one next Saturday and Sunday. We may have to use some more time on that one, see below.
Repeat that one each weekend.

We are starting out today with the member "r3v3nu".

... to bulkerforum.biz.

Their host right now is 194.225.62.97, Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

We wonder if they all converted to islam? "Ali Goncearencu", "Ahmed J. Brown", "Yassin Williams", "Abdullah S . Lynn"? Watch out for those names, just in case.

Kind of fits in the pattern though, Iran is not known as the most rabid defenders of free speech.
And as you know, some of the inhabitants of bulkerforum.biz encourage ddosing sites with content they do not like.
And threatening baseless legal action.
So the Ayahtollas and some members of the bulkerforum should get along.
